The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Sarah Lynam, trainer of Freedom Chimes (GB) (off feed) - €200

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Rego Park Lady, ridden by R. Aguiar, and trained by Adrian Murray. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. R. Aguiar, stated that as this filly was retuning from an injury, his instructions were to jump her into the race and give her a good education without hurting her. R. Aguair stated that in running his mount jumped into the race and settled well when held. In the last 2 furlongs, R. Aguair attempted to find space to challenge but gaps closed on him and his mount held her head high. Adrian Murray stated that Rego Park Lady had suffered a stress fracture in June and this was her first race since the injury. He instructed R. Aguair to drop his filly into the race and to finish as strong as possible. He further stated that he might have preferred if R. Aguair had given his charge a stronger ride. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Rego Park Lady was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered and advised R. Aguair to ensure that he is seen to be more forceful in future.

The Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, rider of Smart Stinger (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found C.D. Hayes to be in breach of Regulations 10.3(d) in that he used his whip after the winning post was reached, 10.3(f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and 10.4 in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended C.D. Hayes for 3 racedays.

The Stewards informed Patrick Martin, trainer that Creggs Lad, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Polymnia (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, Acari, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed fourth, World's Greatest (USA), ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Aunty Audrey, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fifth and Duckanddive, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Koybig trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount caught a heel in the straight.

The Stewards fined Luke Comer, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Introductory, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards interviewed S.B. Kelly, rider of Masalai, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found S.B. Kelly in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) in that he used his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned S.B. Kelly.

The Stewards interviewed D.P. Linehan, rider of California Lad (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, including his explanation for his use of the whip in this manner, the Stewards found D.P. Linehan to be in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) in that he used his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D. P. Linehan for 2 racedays.
