The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.P. Hoban rode Little Cupcake (GB) (reserve) , trained by Paul W. Flynn (Race 1)

028A Fast Shipping Ireland Ltd. H'cap

The Stewards fined J.F. Levins, € 350 for failing to lodge a passport in respect of winning horse Palavicini Run, in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(vi). Written assurance was given by or on behalf of the Trainer that the Passport would be forwarded to Horse Racing Ireland within the next 3 working days for verification with the markings and microchip number taken by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

028C2 Contract Floor Coverings H'cap

The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Stable Yard Security that Malicious Intent, trained by V. Clifford had failed to arrive at the racecourse half an hour prior to the off time of this race. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse and interviewed the trainer who stated that the box of the transport company he had engaged to take his horse to the races had broken down on its way to the track causing considerable delay and he had subsequently not arrived until close to the off time of the race. Having considered the evidence the Stewards found V. Clifford in breach of Rule 19 (ii) and having taken his record into account, cautioned the trainer regarding his responsibilities in this regard in future.

028E GAIN H'cap

K.J. Leonard, rider of Split The Atom, trained by David Marnane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount failed to hold her position early and he pulled back when running short of room on the inner.

028F Elusive Pimpernel M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the first bend involving Pure Action, ridden by K.J. Manning, Robe Of Honour (USA), ridden by C.P. Hoban, and Amazing Mary, ridden by R.P. Whelan, where it appeared Robe of Honour (USA) and Amazing Mary received interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.J. Manning stated that his mount failed to handle the bend and shifted to the outer causing interference to the horses outside him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards deemed the incident accidental in nature and took no further action.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Amazing Mary trained by Miss Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount received interference at the first bend and was forced wide.


The Stewards received reports from P.W. Murtagh, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that G.P. Brouder, rider of Stoichkhov, presented himself to weigh out at 3 lbs overweight in Race 3 and 3lbs overweight on Society Ranger in Race 4. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had indicated at declaration that he would possibly present to weigh out at 2lbs overweight however his usual routine had been unavoidably altered prior to racing and he had not been able to get down to the required weight on the day. The Stewards gave the rider permission to carry the overweight in both instances. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Brouder was in breach of Rule 231 and having taken his record into account suspended him for three race days.
