Madden, placed second and Arcanears, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed fourth, where it appeared that Spanish Tenor was tightened for room when racing close to the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M. Halford, trainer of Arcanears, accompanied B.M. Coen at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by T.P. The Stewards received a report from Ms. Joan Taylor, IHRB Veterinary Officer, in relation to the identity of Arlecchino's Rock (GB),trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, a declared runner in this race. Ms Taylor stated that the passport for Arlecchino's Rock was lodged as required by rule but the horse presented did not correspond with the markings in the passport and therefore she was unable to positively identify the animal. Noel Clarke, groom for Dermot Anthony McLoughlin acknowledged that he was not an Authorised representative for the trainer but did a lot of raceday work for him. He stated that the trainer was racing at Tramore and alternative transport was used for this animal. He believed that the late arrival of the transport vehicle caused him to mistakenly bring the wrong animal to the races and the matter was solely his error. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards in compliance with the provisions of Rule 90 (vi) ordered the withdrawal of Arlecchino's Rock and referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for investigation. Furthermore, the Stewards imposed a fine of €130 on Dermot Anthony McLoughlin for failing to have an Authorised representative available to attend this enquiry, this being a breach of Rule 147 (v).

D.E. Hogan, rider of Nite Irene trained by Barry John Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in the starting stalls.

G.P. Brouder, rider of Toffee Tart (GB) trained by Mrs Ann Mooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered on leaving the back straight.

The Stewards enquired into an incident leaving the back straight involving Three Majors, ridden by G.M. Ryan, unplaced, Coach Bombay, ridden by S.M. Crosse, unplaced and Toffee Tart (GB), ridden by G.P. Brouder, unplaced, where it appeared that Toffee Tart (GB) got tightened while racing closed to the rail. Charles Persse accompanied S.M. Crosse at this enquiry. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and therefore took no further action.

227F Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. Hugh Hynes, regarding the failure of Y. Nonaka, rider of Tosen Aisling, unplaced, to weigh in after this race when all riders had been requested to do so. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he did not understand that he was required to weigh in having finished unplaced. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned Y. Nonaka for his failure to comply with Rule 227 and reminded him of his responsibility in this regard. Furthermore, the Stewards disqualified Tosen Aisling in accordance with the provisions of Rule 230 (ii).

227G Bar One Racing Telebetting M'dn

The Stewards fined F.Birrane, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of King Citric (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of King Citric in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).
