326B Dundalk - Light Up Your Night H'cap

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Sheehy, rider of Doonard Prince, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Sheehy was in breach of R10 (3) (g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.E. Sheehy.

326C Christmas Parties Apprentice Nursery

D.E. Hogan, rider of Guiding trained by Shane Nolan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked on leaving the back straight and again close to the finish.

The Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the start involving Finding Nero, ridden by D.P. Linehan, placed fifth and King's Vow (FR), ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed second, where it appeared that Finding Nero moved across towards the rail and caused King's Vow (FR) to check when left tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned with S.M. Crosse giving his evidence in the presence of Charles Persse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards reminded D.P. Linehan of his responsibility to be more careful of the horses around him when making a manoeuvre. Furthermore from the evidence furnished by S.M. Crosse, the Stewards reminded him of his responsibility to comply with the provisions of Rule 213.

326D Floodlit Friday Nights Rated Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dramatise, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. Hugh Hynes, that G.P. Halpin, rider of Yourartisonfire (GB), had weighed in at 1.5lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had returned from holidays last evening and realised that he had 7lbs to lose overnight to ride at the correct weight. He admitted that he had drank an amount of fluid to rehydrate as he felt that he was in need of restoring energy. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Halpin was in breach of Rule 231. Having considered his previous record, the Stewards suspended G.P. Halpin for 2 racedays.

S. Foley, rider of Dramatise, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled during this race.

326F Dundalk Stadium Light Up Your Night Hcap

Under the provisions of Rule 87 (vii)(b), the Stewards ordered the withdrawal Gymkhana (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, as the animal had been vaccinated within 7 days prior to today's race

326G1 Light Up Your Night H'cap

The Stewards fined Garvan Donnelly, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Another Dressin, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Another Dressin in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Lady Kimberley, trained by W.T. Farrell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got upset in the starting stalls.

326G2 Light Up Your Night H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Attack At Dawn, ridden by G.P. Halpin, unplaced, Paddytheirishman, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed fourth and Spanish Dawn, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed third, where it appeared that Attack At Dawn got tight for room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Wavepoint (GB), trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount moved very short in the straight.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Attack At Dawn, trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount received interference in the straight.

The Stewards received a report from Ms Joan Taylor, IHRB Veterinary Officer that an item was found in a stable during the course of todays meeting. Evidence was heard from Ms J. Taylor, Mr. Kieran O'Connor, IHRB Security Officer and Mr Jim Martin, Dundalk Racecourse Manager. Having considered the evidence the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the IHRB for further investigation.
