D.E. Sheehy, rider of Indiana Grey trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

The Stewards requested a report from James McAuley, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Farnese (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent run five months ago. James McAuley reported that his charge ran most disappointingly at Dundalk on 12th July and no abnormality was found. Since then this animal was transferred to D.G. Hogan, trainer, who found a wind abnormality on endoscopic examination. Consequently a wind operation was performed and this appears to have had the desired effect. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
