029A Smart Money's On Coral H'cap

R.C. Colgan, rider of Danz Gift trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got stopped with his run about one furlong from the finish.

R. Coakley, rider of Lapilli (GB) trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Lapilli (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Stewards and confirmed that the animal had blood on the nose as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

S.M. Crosse, rider of Hedonism trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped out of the stalls slowly and at a later stage she hung left in the straight.

The Stewards enquired into an incident about 200 yards from the finish involving Danz Gift, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed sixth, Lapilli (GB), ridden by R. Coakley, unplaced and Mr Shelby, ridden by D.P. Davis, unplaced, where it appeared that Lapilli (GB) ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Donohoe, trainer of Mr Shelby, accompanied D.P. Davis at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by D.P. Davis riding carelessly this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.P. Davis.

Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Mr Shelby, trained by S. Donohoe, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Yourartisonfire (GB) trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with slight interference in the straight.

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Kasbah, trained by Adrian McGuinness, in accordance with the provisions of Rule 91 (i) as this animal had been vaccinated within the previous 7 days.

C.T. Keane, rider of Nick Vedder (GB) trained by Michael Wigham (in GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from Anthony McCann, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Togoville, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Anthony McCann reported that his charge was a renowned course specialist but his return to form was helped tonight by the surface riding slow which kept Togoville in the race. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards enquired into an incident before the marker poles involving Geological, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth and Togoville, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed first, where it appeared that Geological moved in before the marker poles and Togoville checked when his ground was taken. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Conor O'Dwyer accompanied A.J. Slattery at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight course until the marker poles were reached. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned S. Foley.

The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of View The Bay, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.M. Coen was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight course to the marker poles. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended B.M. Coen for 1 raceday. R.P. Cody accompanied B.M. Coen at this enquiry.

The Stewards enquired into an incident within strides of leaving the starting stalls involving Trevena (GB), ridden by C.P. Hoban,unplaced and California Lad (GB), ridden by M.A. Gallagher,unplaced, where it appeared that California Lad (GB) moved inwards and Trevena (GB) checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Gallagher had caused the incident by riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M.A. Gallagher for 1 raceday.

029G NR Rubber Products H'cap

The Stewards informed Adrian McGuinness, trainer that Royal Admiral, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Stealth (GB), trained by Anthony McCann, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

S. Foley, rider of Stealth (GB) trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up in the straight when his stride shortened.
