The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

G.F. Carroll rode Bluesbreaker (reserve) , trained by Damian Joseph English (Race 1)

315A Dundalk Stadium Claiming Race

A.J. Farragher, rider of Burn The Boats, trained by John James Feane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran very keen early on.

315B Christmas Party Nights Dundalk Nurs. Hcp

The Stewards requested a report from P.J.Prendergast, trainer of War Hero, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring. P.J. Prendergast reported that he had to saddle 2 runners for this race and had difficulty fitting a tongue strap to War Hero. Having considered the report the Stewards accepted its content.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Blue Petal, trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled from the stalls.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Blue Petal, trained by R. K. Watson, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

315C Light Up Your Night At Dundalk (C&G) Mdn

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Rock In Society trained by S. Donohoe was now gelded. The Stewards fined S. Donohoe, trainer, €130 for failing to notify the Registry Office that his charge is now gelded in accordance with Rule 148 (vi).

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined National Security, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

315D Floodlit Friday Nights H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from R.P. McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Cascavelle, placed first, as compared with its recent form. R.P. McNamara stated that he has only run his charge on two previous runs. On his first run in Galway he won a maiden race on good ground. On his last run in Cork, having run well early on, he ultimately didn't handle the soft ground conditions. In the opinion of R.P. McNamara Cascavelle is better suited to good conditions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

Paul J. Jones, rider of Where's My Warrior, trained by F.J. Lacy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slow away from the stalls and jumped right.

B.M. Coen, rider of Smart Stinger (USA), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped heels and stumbled in the closing stages.

315G(i) Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Hcap (Division One)

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Burren View Lady, ridden by A.M. Glynn, and trained by Denis Gerard Hogan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative concerned. A.M. Glynn, stated that having had a bad draw, his instructions were to get a good position in the race, keep his mount on the bridle and push for home having taken the home turn. He further stated that when he made attempts to use his whip in the closing stages he fumbled it and was weary of unsettling his mount thereafter. Megan Donnellan, authorised representative of D.G. Hogan, stated that A.M. Glynn was instructed to break fast, get to the front and try to win. Megan Donnellan further stated that she was satisfied with the ride having regard to A.M. Glynn's lack of experience. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Burren View Lady was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

315G(ii) Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Hcap (Division Two)

D.E. Sheehy, rider of Full Shilling trained by Mrs Ann Mooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hesitated in the stalls.

Peter McCreery, trainer of Lady Ranger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have mucous on endoscopic examination the morning after this race.
