The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

O.J. Orr rode Miss Magoo (reserve) , trained by James Coyle (Race 5)

251B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

W.J. Lee, rider of Grainne's Dream trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped the road crossing.

251C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction M'dn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Hansian Prince, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second, Trevanna (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed first, Cul An Ti, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed third and Delegating (GB), ridden by S.P. Davis, placed fourth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer, with apprentice S.P. Davis and Adrian McGuinness, with apprentice K.J. Leonard. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

251F West Coast Cooler Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards interviewed K.P. Moriarty, rider of Del's Delight, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found K.P. Moriarty in breach of Reg. 10 3.(b) by unnecessarily using his whip when his chance of being placed was clearly gone and having taken his good record into account the Stewards cautioned the rider regarding his future whip use.

E.T. Daly, rider of Penelope Pitstop (GB) trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's saddle slipped and pulled up.

K.P. Moriarty, rider of Del's Delight trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat.

251G West Coast Cooler Ulster Cesarewitch Hcp

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Petuna, ridden by A. Ring, Automated (GB), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, and Gusty Rocky, ridden by W.J. Lee, where it appeared Petuna received interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The Stewards interviewed A. Ring, rider of Petuna, trained by M.Phelan, concerning his riding close home where he appeared to momentarily stop riding. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his hand momentarily lost control of his whip in the closing stages and he eventually dropped it close to the line. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick J.Flynn, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Gusty Rocky, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Alan Coady, trainer's representative, reported that this horse disappointed in Galway, they freshened him up since and he then ran well over hurdles in Cork where he met interference in the closing stages. He also probably appreciates a more galloping track. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report.
