The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

J.T.R.Dreaper, trainer of Native Que (Ground) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.M. Moore replaced M.P. Flanagan on The Nutcracker, trained by Thomas Gibney (Race 1)(Unwell)
Andrew J. MacNamara rode Thats Good Too (reserve) , trained by F. Flood (Race 1)
Mr N. McParlan replaced Mr J.A. Kinsella on Mags Bill, trained by P.G.Coffey (Race 6)(Stewards Permission - see enquiry)
Miss L.A. Hourigan replaced 'No rider nominated' on Milan Diva, trained by Sarah Dawson (Race 7)(See Enquiry)

096A Bet With The Tote M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference approaching the 2 furlong pole involving The Nutcracker, ridden by J.M. Moore, placed second, and Areema, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed third, where it appeared Areema suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges' placings. They were, however, of the opinion J.M. Moore was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays.
Mrs. Alison Millar, Acting Steward, absented herself from this enquiry.

096D Charles Caldwell Mem. Beginners S'chase

Andrew J.McNamara, rider of Bahati Boy trained by J.G.Cosgrave, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel and was pulled up. This was confirmed by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

B. Hayes, rider of Diamond Dame trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.

096F Newmac Contracts Ltd. Hunters S'chase

The Stewards interviewed P.G.Coffey, trainer, concerning his request to substitute the nominated rider Mr J.A. Kinsella with Mr. N. McParlan.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitution and accepted the explanation offered, but reminded P.G. Coffey of his responsibilities in this regard for the future.

The Stewards interviewed Mr K.J. Quigley, rider of D I Y Lawyer, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion Mr K.J. Quigley was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and force, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered that he attend RACE for 1 days tuition on the correct use of the whip.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Illusion Of Time, at the request of trainer, R. K. Watson, and reported the animal to have epistaxis from both nostrils. The trainer also reported his charge to have bled during the race.

096G Down Royal INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Sarah Dawson, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Milan Diva. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered, allowed the nomination of Miss L.A. Hourigan, but reminded Sarah Dawson of her responsibilities in this regard for the future.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Mist Of Gold, at the request of trainer, Neil McKnight, and reported the animal to have tied up during the race.
