The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Geroid P. Brouder replaced Gavin Peter Brouder on Klassy Kay, trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin (Race 6)(Unwell).

354B Adam & Ann Armstrong Mem. H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.F. O'Regan, rider of Ticket To Ride (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, including the report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.F. O'Regan was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive force and Regulation 10.4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.F. O' Regan for 3 racedays.

354C Toals Bookmakers Hunters S'chase

The Stewards fined S. Michael Millar, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Nevada Rose, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Nevada Rose in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards interviewed Mr M.J. O'Hare, rider of Sizing Coal, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, including the report of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. M.J. O'Hare was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force and Regulation 10.4 in that he failed to give mount time to respond. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. M.J. O' Hare for 1 raceday. Mr. James Hunt, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

The Stewards interviewed Mr N. McParlan, rider of Call Me Bubbles (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, including the report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. N. McParlan was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) in that he used his whip with the arm above shoulder height and Regulation 10.3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. N. McParlan for 2 racedays. Rev. C.L. Hall-Thompson, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

354D I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined S.R.B. Crawford, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Mandy's Quine, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Mandy's Quine in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Billy Kimber trained by S.R.B. Crawford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was keen early on and stopped quickly.

354E Red Mills Irish EBF Auction M'dn H'dle

Mr B. O'Neill, rider of Generalisation trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount boiled over at the start and was keen throughout the race.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Pilot Station, ridden by Sarah Kavanagh, and trained by P.A.Fahy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Sarah Kavanagh, stated that her instructions were to settle her mount in the early stages as he can be free, to get him balanced and to do the best she could. She added that her mount had a record of falling and she wanted to get him jumping and over the last hurdle before she made her final effort. P.A.Fahy, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride considering the riders inexperience. He outlined the difficulties in settling his charge and stated he had a wind operation. He also added he instructed the rider not to put the horse into the race in the early stage and to keep him settled. He felt his charge could have of been nearer to the pace early on and could have finished closer at the line. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that the animal was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

354F Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

P.A. Gallagher, rider of Weekend Offender (FR) trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Back To Bataan, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed third, British Art (GB), ridden by B. Browne, placed first and Bracka Lily, ridden by S.J. Crimin, placed second, where it appeared interference occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings but advised B. Browne to ride with more care in the future.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Miss Colleen Murphy, that J.C. Canavan, rider of Piranto, had weighed in at 1.6lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was dehydrated and had a drink of water after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.C. Canavan was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
