The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.L. Joyce replaced Christina Simpson on Keep On Walking, trained by A. Oliver (Race 6)(Unwell)

250A Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident about 100 yards from the finish involving Our Man Phil, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth, Russian Gleam (GB), ridden by C. O'Donoghue, unplaced and Well Done Me, ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed fourth, where it appeared Russian Gleam (GB) ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered the incident to be accidental but advised both S. Foley and G.P. Halpin to ride with more care.

The Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Boris Bike, concerning an observation that he had used a mobile phone in the parade ring prior to this race. S. Foley admitted the offence and added that he had to receive his riding instructions from Mrs John Harrington, trainer, but was delayed by a Stewards enquiry in the first race which resulted in her failure to make earlier contact. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of R16 "mobile phones" and cautioned him having taken his clean previous record into consideration.

250B Mourne Seafood Bar Dublin Claiming Race

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Baroque Poet (USA), trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

250D Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards requested a report from Kevin Prendergast, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of The Scourge, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mark Horgan, Authorised representative for Kevin Prendergast, trainer, reported that their animal was unable to handle the undulating track at Bellewstown 4th July and more recently failed to handle the soft ground conditions at the Curragh 10th August whereas today the gelding returned to a faster surface which was more suitable and was a contributing factor to the improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

250E Charles Hurst Premium H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Elusive Gent, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced and Snap Click, ridden by Gearoid Patrick Brouder, placed third, where it appeared Elusive Gent checked off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that G.P. Brouder had caused the incident by riding carelessly and suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration. Jane M. Foley, trainer, accompanied T.P. Madden at this enquiry.

C.P. Hoban, rider of Patannsen, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly in the latter stages.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Patannsen, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Hayes, placed fourth and House Limit, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, unplaced, where it appeared that Magical Moon (GB) met with interference and collided with the running rail.
