144B Irish Stallion Farms EBF(Mares)Hcap Hdle

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, William Fleming, that M.J. Bolger, rider of Pat's Pearl, had weighed in at 1.1lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had taken fluids to rehydrate after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M.J. Bolger was in breach of Rule 231 and therefore cautioned him having taken his previous record into consideration.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Glendine River, trained by Dermot P. O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

144D Molson Coors H'cap H'dle

B.J. Cooper, rider of Vanishing Point (GB) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having made a bad mistake at the third last hurdle.

The Stewards requested a report from Henry de Bromhead, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of The King Of Brega, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Stephen Dunphy, representing Henry de Bromhead reported that The King Of Brega returned to the longer trip of 2 miles 6 furlongs today which allowed him to travel with ease in behind the leaders and deliver a challenge going to the final hurdle. The reapplication of cheek pieces also possibly had a desired effect today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report. As Henry de Bromhead had failed to register Stephen Dunphy as an Authorised representative by either method in accordance with the provisions of Rule 147 (v), the Stewards imposed a fine of €130.

144G Irish Stall. Farms EBF (M) INH Flat Race

The Stewards enquired into the loss of the lead cloth during this race which was carried by Hylo's Journey. Evidence was heard from Mr D.P. Maxwell, rider and Mrs D. Love representing Andrew McNamara, trainer. Mrs Love stated that the lead cloth had been retrieved from the racing surface and Mr Maxwell confirmed that he had lost the lead cloth during the race. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr D.P. Maxwell had failed to draw the correct weight in accordance with the provisions of Rule 231 (i) and consequently disqualified Hylo's Journey. The Stewards did not apportion any blame to any individual and took no further action.
