The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. Meyler replaced Rachael Blackmore on Icelip, trained by David M. O'Brien (Race 6)(injured)
M.A. Enright replaced Rachael Blackmore on Admiral Bob, trained by Ms Helen P. Markham (Race 7)(Injured)
K.C. Sexton replaced R.C. Colgan on Sir Vincent, trained by H. Beggs (Race 3)(Injured)
A.W. Short replaced R.C. Colgan on Better Back Bob, trained by Neil McKnight (Race 4)(injured)

287B I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Sois Gentil (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported that the animal was found to have suffered a cut on his right fore leg but was otherwise post race normal.

M.P. Walsh, rider of Up For Discussion (GB) trained by E. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up injured.

287C MB McGrady & Co, Accountants H'cap H'dle

K.C. Sexton, rider of Sir Vincent trained by H. Beggs, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action and pulled up lame.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Phantasmo, at the request of trainer, John Patrick Ryan, and reported the animal to be lame post race.

The Stewards interviewed K.J. Brouder, rider of Barneymac, pulled up, as he failed to dismount after his horse went lame. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Brouder was in breach of Rule 272 in that he acted in a manner which was prejudicial to the good reputation of horse racing, and having considered his record in this regard, suspended him for 7 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of Dry Run, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. McInerney was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force, and Regulation 10.4, in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned D.J. McInerney regarding his future responsibilities.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Sir Vincent trained by H.Beggs was lame post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Barneymac trained by E. Sheehy was lame post race.

287D Portman Dentalcare H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed Neil McKnight, trainer, in relation to his request to substitute R.C. Colgan with A.W. Short. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that as R.C. Colgan was injured, his preferred choice of rider is A.W. Short. He explained that Better Back Bob is a difficult horse to ride, and A.W. Short has schooled him and ridden him in work and in his opinion he is the best suited replacement rider for today's race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted Neil Mc Knight's explanation and allowed the substitution of rider in this instance.

287F Frank Fitzsimons Memorial Beginners S'ch

A.E. Lynch, rider of Scotch Beg trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Knockraha King, trained by Adrian Maguire, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Owing to ground conditions, the Stewards granted permission for fence number 2 to be omitted from races 6 and 7 of today's meeting.
