124A Tally Ho Stud Irish EBF (C&G) M'dn

The Stewards enquired into the fall of Red Assembly, ridden by L.T. McAteer in the closing stages of this race. L.T. McAteer reported that his mount fell having sustained an injury. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

124B Hanlon Concrete H'cap

The Stewards fined Peter Fahey, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Canford Art, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Canford Art in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

At the request of the Stewards, G.M. Ryan, rider of Teddy Boy, trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled and unseated him when the stalls opened.

D. O'Brien, rider of Little Clarinet trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was impeded by a loose horse.

124D Curragh Official Opening Day H'cap

Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Optionality (GB), trained by D.J. Bunyan, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified.

124E Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined East (GB), trained by Kevin Ryan (in GB), at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Qabala (USA), trained by Roger Varian (in GB), at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have scoped abnormally post race.

124F Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Habitat' H'cap

K.J. Manning, rider of Solar Wave, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was very slowly away from the stalls, lost a considerable amount of ground and was eased thereafter.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Crotchet (GB), ridden by D. O'Brien, placed third, Yuften (GB), ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed fifth and Atlas, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed fourth, where it appeared Atlas momentarily ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of Mr. M. Crosse, who accompanied S.M. Crosse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise S.M. Crosse to ride with more care in future.

124G Boodles H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Marine One (GB) trained by Denis Gerard Hogan was found to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

The Stewards interviewed A.C. Persse, rider of Shakespear'sgalley, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that A.C. Persse was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, they suspended him for 2 racedays.

124H Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards requested a report from T.F. Shaw, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Telepathy (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge is a difficult type to train and felt a combination of today's faster ground and a liking for the track may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
