The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

K.J. Manning replaced R.P. Whelan on Intensical, trained by J. S. Bolger (Race 8)(Stewards Permission - original mount a non runner).
J.A. Heffernan replaced E.J. McNamara on Painted Cliffs, trained by A.P.O'Brien (Race 5) (Stewards Permission - original mount a non runner).

252A Ir.Stal.Farms EBF 'Bold Lad' Sprint Hcap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving An Saighdiur, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, In Salutem (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed second and Creggs Pipes, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced, where it appeared An Saighdiur and Creggs Pipes suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of John Hayden, trainer, representing T.P. Madden. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion J.A Heffernan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden dangerously, and acting under the terms of Rule 214(i)(a) they disqualified In Salutem (GB) from 2nd place and amended the result to read;
First: George Bowen
Second: Master Speaker
Third: Jan Van Hoof
Fourth: Kasbah
Fifth: Ostatnia
Sixth: Jamesie.
Futhermore, having taken his record into account, they suspended J.A. Heffernan for 10 days and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.

C.T. Keane, rider of Master Speaker, trained by Martin Hassett, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran keen early, and ran short of room momentarily, thereby clipping a heel.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of An Saighdiur trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had to check badly in the latter stages.

252C Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes

D. Allan, rider of Take Cover (GB), trained by David C. Griffiths (in GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly right.

The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately 2 furlongs out involving Pearl Secret (GB), ridden by O. Murphy, placed sixth, Take Cover (GB), ridden by D. Allan, placed third and Iffranesia (FR), ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, where it appeared Pearl Secret (GB) and Iffranesia (FR) suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion D. Allan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they severely cautioned him. Furthermore, they found D. Allan in breach of Rule 213 in that he failed to report in the first instance anything that may have affected the running of his horse, having stated in evidence that his mount had hung badly right in this race, they also severely cautioned him having taken his record into account.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Stepper Point (GB), at the request of trainer, William Muir (in GB), and reported the animal to be post race normal.

252D Moyglare Stud Stakes

An authorised representative of Richard Hannon (in GB), trainer of Great Page, reported to the Clerk of Scales that their charge may not have acted on the ground.

252G Tattersalls Ire. Super Auction Sale Stks

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the latter stages involving Vocal Defense, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced, Sunnua, ridden by J.P. Spencer, placed tenth and Lady Argentum, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned J.P.Spencer to ride with more care in future.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Escondida, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered some interference early in this race.

252H Ir. Stal. Farms EBF 'Northfields' H'cap

The Stewards interviewed W.M. Lordan, rider of Torcedor, winner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion W.M. Lordan was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
