The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer of Aurora Eclipse (declared in error) - €320
A.J.Martin, trainer of Maid In Manhattan (ran yesterday) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.P. Hoban rode Typhoon Rising (reserve), trained by Thomas Foley (Race 7)
C.T. Keane rode Thomas O'Malley (reserve), trained by J.R.Finn (Race 7)

278A Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction (F) M'dn

The Stewards informed Edmond Kent, trainer of Samurai Girl, through his authorised representative, that a repeat performance such as today in the behaviour of his charge, may render the animal liable for suspension.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Samurai Girl trained by Edmond Kent, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he was unable to steer his mount who ran off the track.

W.J. Lee, rider of Jarrocho trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Chernish trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room and was checked.

The Stewards enquired into the late arrival of Kodi Dream (GB), trained by Adrian Paul Keatley, into the parade ring for this race. Patrick Sinnott representative of the trainer, explained the circumstances surrounding the delay and apologised for this. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Adrian Paul Keatley was in breach of Rule 32(ii) in that he had failed to parade his charge a reasonable amount of time before the signal to mount was given and having considered his record in this regard, they issued a fine of €200 through his representative. Furthermore, the Stewards found that Adrian Paul Keatley was in breach of Rule 147(v) in that he had failed to lodge the appropriate paperwork in relation to his authorised representative and having considered his record in this regard, they issued a fine of €130 through his representative.

The Stewards enquired into the late arrival of Shore Step, trained by J.P. Murtagh into the parade ring for this race. Evidence was heard from Oleg Pereverzev, authorised representative of the trainer, who explained the circumstances surrounding the delay and apologised for this. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.P. Murtagh was in breach of Rule 32(ii) in that he had failed to parade his charge a reasonable amount of time before the signal to mount was given and having considered his record, they cautioned the trainer on this occasion through his representative.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iv), the Stewards allowed Spittal Field, trained by M.A. Gunn, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

The Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, that War Ensign, trained by J. Halley, was presented with evidence of a skin condition which was not accompanied by a certificate as required. Evidence was heard from David Harry Kelly, authorised representative of the trainer, who accepted the findings but was satisfied that War Ensign had showed no signs of the condition prior to arrival at the racecourse. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of War Ensign under the provisions of Rule 148(v) and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Stormy Air (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Michael Carroll, authorised representative of the trainer reported that the first time application of a tongue tie and more favourable ground conditions may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

M. Flannery, trainer of Palmones, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board on Thursday 4th October that his charge was found to be in season post race.

S. Foley, rider of Universal Focus (GER) trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly right in the straight.
