Cork 26th March 2015

056C CIT Rag Week H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Thunder Zone (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Cheltenham . Gordon Elliot reported that his charge previously ran at Cheltenham where he was ridden very wide and was always struggling to go with the pace. He added that the extra four furlongs and the soft underfoot conditions today were contributing factors for the improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

056D Fegentri World C'ship (QR) H'cap H'dle

Mr S. Clements, rider of Bye Bye O Bye, trained by Muredach Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount spread a plate in running. This was confirmed by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

056F Stay Classy H'cap H'dle

Mrs Denise Foster, trainer of Simple Joys (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge was found to be in season post race.

The Stewards interviewed Mr W.T. Cronin, rider of Notification, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr W.T. Cronin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
