060A Dermot Casey Tree Care M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined Thomas Cooper, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Moonball (FR), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Waterville Dancer, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Wolfofallstreets, ridden by A.W. Short, and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
A.W. Short, stated that his instructions were to race in 5th or 6th and to do the best he could. He said his mount ballooned the first and as a result of this, he had to race further back than instructed. He added that his mount ran very green throughout and made several mistakes before staying on past tired horses in the closing stages under a hands and heels ride. He felt his mount may appreciate better ground in the future and added that he had schooled the animal prior to today and he had showed no sighs of being green.
P.J. Rothwell, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his over all satisfaction with the ride. He outlined the schooling his charge had prior to today and was surprised at how green his charge was when leaving the parade ring and throughout the race and expressed his delight with the run considering both factors. He further added that the rider could have ridden stronger in the closing stages but he was satisfied he achieved his best possible placing without having to revert to use of the whip. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Wolfofallstreets was found to have a small sore on the left side of his mouth of no consequence and was otherwise post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the trainers explanation and advised A.W. Short to be seen to make more of an effort in the future.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Bright Lass trained by John J. Walsh was found to have pulled the right fore shoe.

060B O'Flynn Motors Mallow (Mares) M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined Kevin McDonagh, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Liscananaun Lady, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

L.P. Gilligan, rider of Liscananaun Lady trained by Kevin McDonagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Katoptris trained by Gavin Cromwell was found to have pulled a right hind shoe.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Moonlight Escape trained by Gordon Elliott was found to have a cut on the left fore cannon post race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Shadows Return trained by John J. Walsh was found to have pulled her right fore shoe.

060C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners S'ch

The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Burgas (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended D. Meyler for 3 racedays.

060E FBD Insurance H'cap Hdle

B.J. Geraghty, rider of Spades Are Trumps trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount struggled from half way and was pulled up thereafter.

A.W. Short, rider of La Bella Vida trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action and was pulled up thereafter.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that La Bella Vida trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle was found to have a cut on the left fore.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Spades Are Trumps, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be have pulled a right fore shoe but was other wise post race normal.

B.J. Cooper, rider of Lareena (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got very tired.

060F Pavilion Restaurant H'dle

B.J. Geraghty, rider of Bleu Et Rouge (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount choked in running.

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Geraghty, rider of Blue Et Rouge(FR), concerning his riding in the home straight, when he appeared to stop riding when racing in 3rd place before the last and was subsequently beaten into 4th place by half a length. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who explained that his charge had choked turning for home, which he had reported as required under Rule 213. He said his mount was very tired thereafter on what he described as very testing ground conditions and felt the only way he could get his mount to finish was to allow him time to fill his lungs before the last. Blue Et Rouge(FR) was subsequently examined by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bleu Et Rouge (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

060G Munster Waste Management H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed Katie O'Farrell, rider of Battling Spirit, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (f) in that she had used her whip with excessive frequency. Having considered her previous record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned her.

060H Jim Ryan Services (P/A) INH Flat Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Buck A Trend trained by James Daniel Dullea was found to have pulled the right fore shoe.
