071B Most Stylish Easter Sunday H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Remember The Days, ridden by D. O'Brien, Hailstone, ridden by D.E. Hogan, Make It Hurrah, ridden by C. O'Donoghue, and Richard Strauss, ridden by J.A. Heffernan. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action.

071D Blackwater M'dn

The Stewards fined Mrs John Harrington, trainer, €130 for a breach of Rule 148(vi), having failed to inform the authorities that Caherdaniel had been gelded.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.P.L.Malone, that C. O'Donoghue, rider of Light That, weighed in 1.4lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards informed A. Oliver, trainer that Roses Need Rain, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

071F Cork H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Jaqen H'Ghar, ridden by D. O'Brien, Le Vagabond (FR), ridden by W.J. Lee, and Turbine, ridden by G.P. Halpin. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that G.P.Halpin was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

D. O'Brien, rider of Jaqen H'Ghar trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount suffered interference in the straight.

The Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Laburnum Park, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

G.P. Halpin, rider of No Way Jack trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls.
