The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer of Angelic Light (off feed) - €200
M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer of Aurora Eclipse (off feed) - €200
D.J. Bunyan, trainer of Lizbuncon (off feed) - €200

148A Matchbook Irish EBF (Fillies) M'dn

Following a request from broadcasters, the Stewards granted permission for a one minute delay to the first race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Tinkerbells Effect, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Angelic Queen trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right when under pressure.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Royal Affair trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien was found to have pulled the left fore shoe.

148B Matchbook Straight Midsummer Sprint Stks

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that St Patrick's Day (USA) trained by A.P.O'Brien was found to be lame on the right fore having pulled a shoe.

148C Matchbook Exchange Irish EBF (F) H'cap

The Stewards informed Charles O'Brien, trainer, that Face Off (CAN), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

148D Munster Oaks Stakes

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jaega, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

148E Cork Derby

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Perfect Tapatino (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Naas on May 19th, when finishing 8th of 10 runners and was beaten by 19 lengths. Jim O'Brien, authorised representative for the trainer, reported that his charge disappointed on his previous run and felt a combination of today's distance and slow early pace had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

148F(i) Gina & The Champions Play July 12 H'cap (Division One)

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Red Sole Diva, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from Michael Mulvany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ideal Pal, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Sligo on May 21st, when finishing 9th of 13 runners and was beaten by 14th lengths. The trainer reported that his charge got no luck in running at Sligo and felt a trouble free run today had brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

148F(ii) Gina & The Champions Play July 12 H'cap (Division Two)

A.C. Persse, rider of Light Breeze, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got no luck in running.

The Stewards enquired into an incident the closing stages involving Serefeli, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed third, Wilderness (GB), ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed first and Hidden Spark, ridden by D.N. Curran, placed second, where it appeared Serefeli ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.B. Kelly was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, they suspended him for 1 raceday. Mr Steve McDonogh, Acting Steward, was not present for this enquiry.

148G Hothouse Flowers Play After Racing M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Tooth Fairy, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
