The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.E. Mullins replaced D.N. Russell on Swantykay, trained by Miss Ellmarie Holden (Race 5)(Stewards' Permission, See enquiry)
R. Walsh replaced D.N. Russell on Not For You, trained by C. Byrnes (Race 6)(Stewards' Permission, See enquiry)

272A Laganore M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined Anthony Mullins, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Mr Nicolls, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

D.J. Mullins, rider of Guitar George trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mr Nicolls trained by Anthony Mullins was found to be lame on his left fore limb when examined post race.

272B Kilmore M'dn H'dle

D.J. Mullins, rider of Llancillo Lord trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung throughout, made a respiratory noise and didn't travel on the downhill run.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last hurdle involving Solar Heat, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed second and Little Folke (GB), ridden by D.N. Russell, placed first, where it appeared Solar Heat received a number of strikes from the whip of D.N. Russell. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the first two home.
The result now reads;
1st Solar Heat
2nd Little Folke (GB)
3rd Russellstown
4th Kiera Royale
5th Naturally Blond
6th Llancillo Lord

The Stewards further found D.N. Russell to be in breach of Rule 214 by riding improperly and suspended the rider for three racedays.

The Stewards enquired into the conduct of D.N. Russell in the Stewards' Room at the Enquiry which followed the running of the second race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence the Stewards found D.N. Russell in breach of Rule 272 by verbally acting in a manner prejudicial to the proper conduct of horseracing and suspended him for 14 racedays.

At the conclusion of the Enquiry, D.N. Russell indicated to the Stewards that he would be refusing to fulfill his further two riding engagements this afternoon. In light of his conduct at the conclusion of this enquiry and refusal to ride, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of The Turf Club. The Stewards subsequently allowed D.E. Mullins to ride Swantykay (Race 5) and R. Walsh to ride Not For You (Race 6).

272C Thorney Bridge Novice H'cap H'dle

R. Walsh, rider of Khalessi trained by T.J. Nagle Jr., reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount slipped at the top of the hill.

Mr D.G. Lavery, rider of Twilight Shadow, trained by B.R. Hamilton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered interference on the inner on the downhill run and didn't travel thereafter.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Twilight Shadow trained by B. R. Hamilton was found to have sustained a cut to her right hind and to be clinically abnormal post race.

272F Tickincor H'cap S'chase

D.J. Mullins, rider of Fairy Island trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly.

272G Clonmel INH Flat Race

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Lovetotalk (GB) trained by Ms Margaret Mullins was found to have burst blood vessels on post race inspection.
