L.P. Flynn, rider of Fiddlers Bow, trained by James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost a shoe in running.

The Stewards interviewed J.J. Burke, rider of Damut, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he hit the horse short of the hind quarters and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Geraghty, rider, in relation to his riding in the straight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount was having his first run back after a wind operation and was ridden to get home. He added that his charge was outpaced,pushed along throughout and ridden out hands and heals after the last fence, without resorting to the whip. He concluded by saying that he was beaten a short head for fourth place and was satisfied that he achieved his best possible place.
Following the running of the race Fever Pitch was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards and was found to be post race normal. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 212, having failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to achieve his best possible place and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.

300G Powerstown Demesne (QR) H'cap H'dle

Miss S. Ahern, rider of Analyse That, trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount felt lame and was pulled up.

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Manuka, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that he used the whip without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Day Day, trained by J.A.Berry, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Analyse That, trained by Sean Aherne, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
