The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

P. Townend rode French Made (FR) (reserve) , trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 1)

006A Kilsheelan (Mares) M'dn H'dle

T. Ryan, rider of Brindabella trained by W.J.Austin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hunt left throughout.

D.E. Mullins, rider of Janeymac trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room coming down the hill.

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Kilbarry Lilly trained by C. O'Keeffe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Best Not Argue, ridden by J.J. Slevin, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and the trainer's representative, Mr. P. Doody. J.J. Slevin, stated that his instructions were to take his time, get his mount to jump and make the best of his way home from there. He stated that this was a 7yo mare having her first run over hurdles after a lengthy career on the flat. Her schooling had not been very satisfactory. Today, he was concerned about not putting her on the floor, she made mistakes and did not come down the hill. She didn't handle the track and became unbalanced coming down the hill on the chopped up ground on the inner, which affected her running. The trainer's representative confirmed the instuctions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that the mare was fully fit today but had not schooled particularly well at home. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Best Not Argue was coughing post race. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, in view of the veterinary evidence the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
The Stewards however found J.J. Slevin in breach of Rule 213 by failing to report something which might have affected his mount's running and having taken his record into account suspended him for one race day.

006D Monroe M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined Ian O'Connor, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Gangsters Paradise, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Gangsters Paradise in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Dento Des Obeaux (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins was found to have an exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage post race.

P. Townend, rider of Dento Des Obeaux (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst.

006E Tipperary H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed R. Loughran, rider of Shantou Sisu, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10. 3(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account cautioned the rider.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference at the second last hurdle involving Danse Away, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed first and British Art (GB), ridden by A. Ring, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

W.J.Lanigan, trainer of Shantou Sisu, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries (via the Veterinary Officer) that his charge had evidence of kickback in his respiratory tract on endoscopic examination post race.

006F Jossesstown H'cap S'chase

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Rebel Turn trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount made a bad mistake.
