Bellewstown 7th July 2018

The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Brendan W.Duke, trainer of Qui Bono (Off Feed) - €200

172B Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

C.A. Landers, rider of The Crane Man trained by Thomas Coyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got unbalanced after the turn down the back.

The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the first hurdle involving Sierra Law (GB), ridden by P.D. Kennedy, Dalmarella Dancer, ridden by S.A. Shortall, Ashbourne Allstar, ridden by K.J. Brouder, Oromo, ridden by A.W. Short, Hugh Divots, ridden by D. Robinson and The Crane Man, ridden by C.A. Landers, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise all riders to ride with more awareness in future.

The Stewards interviewed David Peter Dunne, trainer of Dalmarella Dancer, concerning the conduct of this horse on the way to the start. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having concidered the evidence and taken the horses previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Dalmarella Dancer for 90 days under the provisions of Rule 14(iii).

172C Peter Casey Memorial M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Political Policy, ridden by G.N. Fox, placed first and Paris Texas (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed second, where it appeared that Paris Texas (FR) ran short of room after both horses drifted towards the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while interference had occurred, they were not satisfied that Political Policy had improved his finishing position in relation to Paris Texas, they therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that G.N. Fox was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his clean record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended G.N. Fox for 1 raceday. Mr. Joseph Collins, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

D.N. Russell, rider of Youghal By The Sea trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake at the first hurdle.

The Stewards interviewed J.B. Kane, rider of Running In Heels, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.B.
