The Stewards requested a report from Pat O'Brien, representing trainer D. K. Weld, as to the improved run of Hisaabaat, winner, as compared with its last run. Mr. O'Brien reported that he couldn't account for the poor run at Clonmel but that the horse had been freshened up since and that may have accounted for the better run. He also felt the horse was entitled to run well today based on his rating. Having considered the evidence the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.
