The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.A. Landers rode Railway Muice (reserve) , trained by Paul W. Flynn (Race 4)

099A Connollys Sligo & Galway M'dn H'dle

The Stewards fined Eoin Christopher McCarthy, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Cork Mick, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cork Mick in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that L.P. Gilligan, rider of Pat Coyne, had presented himself at scales to weigh out at 2lbs overweight which had not been declared under Rule 195(i). Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was confident that he could draw the correct weight but admitted that he had made a miscalculation. John Nicholson, trainer of Pat Coyne, stated that he had made the booking through the rider's agent and would be satisfied to allow the overweight as the rider was familiar with the animal. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards granted permission for L.P. Gilligan to ride Pat Coyne but suspended him for 2 racedays for a breach of Rule 195 (i) having taken his previous record into consideration.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Bannow Breeze trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise throughout this race.

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Edelweis De L'aube (FR) trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having stopped quickly.

At the request of the Stewards, L.P. Gilligan, rider of Pat Coyne, trained by John W. Nicholson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made mistakes early in the race, made a bad mistake at the second last hurdle and was allowed to fill his lungs before staying on at the same pace. In his opinion the animal needs a longer trip.

099B Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

The Stewards fined L.J.Archdeacon, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to Inchidaly Breeze, prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards interviewed T.N. Brett, rider of Draycott Place, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that T.N. Brett was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned T.N. Brett.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Siamsa Cois Laoi, trained by Donncha Duggan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that K. Brogan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned K. Brogan.

The Stewards requested a report from Eoin Doyle, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Weekend Offender (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Eoin Doyle reported that his charge ran disappointingly at Down Royal on the 26th December 2018 where the rider reported post race that his charge made a respiratory noise during the race. Consequently his charge had a wind operation and in his opinion this procedure had the desired effect. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that L.P. Gilligan, rider of Rio Gold, having weighed out at 1lb overweight, weighed back in at a further 1.3lbs overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that L.P. Giilligan was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 3 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

099C BetVictor M'dn H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Acronym, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Aidan O'Ryan, Authorised representative for Gordon Elliot reported that their charge had failed to act on the soft underfoot conditions in recent runs and the return to a sound surface brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

Katie O'Farrell, rider of Castle North trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her stirrup leather opened in the closing stages of this race.

099D FBD Opportunity H'cap H'dle

Landers, unplaced, where it appeared that Merry At Heart was impeded and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by C.A. Landers riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C.A. Landers for 1 raceday.

At the request of the Stewards, S.D. Torrens, rider of Gotta Getaway, trained by Shane Nolan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled independently in the back straight on the first circuit.
