The Stewards enquired into possible interference on the final bend after jumping the last hurdle involving Stormey, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, placed second and Getoutwhenyoucan, ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed first, where it appeared that Stormey was tight for room when attempting to challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Augustine Leahy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Getoutwhenyoucan, placed first, as compared with its recent run. The trainer reported that his charge had disappointed at Kilbeggan last Friday evening but had run in a conditions race where he was rated up to 20lbs inferior to other runners, furthermore it was a good race run at a very fast pace on good to yielding ground. He returned to action quickly this evening as there was no post race abnormality and competed in handicap company in a lesser standard of race which was run at a steady early pace on yielding to soft ground. In his opinion there were a number of contributing factors to the improved run today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards fined Mark Michael McNiff, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of June Carter, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
