161A Vaughanshoes.ie Ladies Day Claiming M'dn

The Stewards received a report from the IHRB, Veterinary Officer concerning the fact that the vaccinations for Magical Link (USA), trained by David Marnane, contained in the Passport for this horse were incorrect for the second successive occasion. In accordance with Rule 90 the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Magical Link (USA) and fined the trainer €350.

161B Tierney's Foxhall H'cap

K.J. Leonard, rider of Easkey Lad trained by F.Birrane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving Passing Trade, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second, Liffeydale Dreamer, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed first and A Few Bob Short, ridden by S. Foley, placed third, where it appeared A Few Bob Short checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Adrian Paul Keatley, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Liffeydale Dreamer, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse had run reasonably at Naas but had boiled over the last day and disappointed even accounting for missing the break. She was subsequently checked out and no abnormalities were found. However she may have benefitted from a return to a professional rider today. Having considered the report the Stewards noted its contents.

161E John Madden & Sons H'cap

The Stewards enquired into the riding of all horses in this race apart from the winner, including Hyperdrive, ridden by C. O'Donoghue, Trendsetter, ridden by N.M. Crosse, Grey Willow, ridden by G.F. Carroll, Ilikehim, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, Analytical Mindset, ridden by C.P. McNamara, Trump Card, ridden by W.J. Lee, Ard Na Carraig (GB), ridden by D.E. Hogan, Look Closer, ridden by O.J. Orr, Temasek Star, ridden by B.M. Coen, Black Label (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, Jazz Ranger, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, Olive D'haguenet (FR), ridden by G.P. Halpin, and Usa, ridden by R.C. Colgan where it appeared Bibliotheca (JPN), ridden by L.F. Roche, got a big lead in front and maintained her advantage to the line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. The apprentices gave their evidence in the presence of John J Walsh, Trainer. At the conclusion of the other evidence, N.G. McCullagh, summarised the race as being run at a good pace, all challengers were squeezing their mounts along from a long way out. He felt the race was run at solid fractions and the best horse won on the night, with no blame due to any other rider. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.

161F Treacy's Pharmacies Irish EBF (F) H'cap

W.J. Lee, rider of Bianca Minola (FR) trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount weakened from the turn in.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bianca Minola (FR), trained by Richard John O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

161G Brendan McNulty Memorial M'dn

The Stewards fined Luke Comer, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Santa Anita (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Santa Anita (GB) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).
