Donoghue, placed fifth and Eiri Na Casca, ridden by D.G. Hogan, placed first, where it appeared that Curragh Golan manoeuvered to the right and caused interference to both He Rock's and Eiri Na Casca. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

P. Townend, rider of Curragh Golan trained by Garrett James Power, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled himself up when he hit the front before the second last fence.

The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Eiri Na Casca, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge finished last at Galway in a hurdle race and followed this run back in a steeplechase at Tramore where he failed to handle the track over the minimum distance of two miles. He added that racing over fences over a longer trip contributed to todays victory. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of this report.
