082A Ladies Day June 24th M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Zemario, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

082B Hollymount Nursing Home H'cap H'dle

John G. Carr, trainer of Barney King, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge burst a blood vessel. This was confirmed by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

P.T. Enright, rider of County Champions, trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost her hind legs when racing around the final bend.

G.N. Fox, rider of Carrow Queen, trained by V. T. O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference as County Champions lost her hind legs when rounding the final bend.

082D Connacht Spring Show May 18th H'cap Hdle

The Stewards interviewed Mr K.S. Dalton, rider of Faranadooney (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr K.S. Dalton was in breach of R10(3)(b) by continuously hitting his mount when his chance of being placed was clearly gone and consequently suspended him for 3 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

082E Killeen Sports Grounds Beginners S'chase

D.N. Russell, rider of Royal Vic, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount both hung and jumped to the left throughout this race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Royal Vic, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards enquired from Mr P. W. Mullins rider of New Kid In Town as to the reason why he attempted to wear a camera attached to his skull cap in this race. Mr Mullins explained that it was a video camera to be used solely for personal reasons when reviewing his riding and had no other usage planned. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards referred this matter to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for a ruling on the use of this equipment and furthermore instructed Mr. Mullins to refrain from using this camera equipment until the Turf Club has informed all parties. The Stewards ordered the removal of the camera equipment prior to the start of this race.
