The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Specific Gravity (FR), trained by Adrian McGuinness, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards requested a report from H.Rogers, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Zero Euro, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Leopardstown 15th April. H. Rogers reported that the heavy ground conditions, the slow pace and the persistence of the rider were the contributing factors to his charges victory. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Timeless Focus, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into the reason why G.J. Phillips failed to present himself at scales to ride Sir Edward Martin at the nominated weight of 8st 1lbs. G.J. Phillips stated that he rode at a light weight yesterday at the Curragh and was satisfied that he would ride at todays weight. He added that on arrival at the racecourse today he found himself to be 2lbs overweight and contacted his agent who in turn contacted the trainer of Sir Edward Martin. He further added that his minimum weight had been reassessed at 8st 6lbs before his 5lb claim was deducted. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.J. Phillips was in breach of Rule 195 and consequently fined him €150 having taken his good previous record in this regard into consideration.

The Stewards interviewed J.L. Joyce, rider of Ondamoura, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.L. Joyce was in breach of R10(3)(b) by the continued use of his whip after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive force. The Stewards consequently suspended J.L. Joyce for 3 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Black Label (GB), at the request of trainer, Adrian McGuinness, and reported the animal to be post race normal.

S. Foley, rider of Tetraites, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat throughout this race.
